FULL GREAT GATSBY TRAILER

swimming-under-water:

Not entirely sure how I feel about this… it looks a lot more modern and surprisingly more glitzy than I expected it to be (which could be considered ironic.) I’ve also doubted Leo DiCaprio since I heard he was cast as Gatsby, and the trailer didn’t do much to alleviate my doubts. Robert Redford was a much more charming, handsome Gatsby than Leo seems to be…

also I think Leo has much more of a confident swagger to his acting, and while I think that confidence is certainly part of the Gatsby role, there is a hefty chunk of insecurity in it as well, which I just didn’t see in the trailer

but I’ll just have to wait for the movie and see  :)

Thor’s never ending belief that his brother could be changed, that he could make his brother see “sense”as he saw it was one of my favorite parts.  Because for me it had a really realistic taste to it-there are some people, especially in your family, who you will always try to help even when they constantly screw you over and shit on you

meet me in the middle of the air: unpopular opinion on the great gatsby:

the sun also rises has basically the exact same premise, but has more drugs, more realistic characters, better conversation, and is set in Spain. in my opinion, it has always been the better novel, & deserves a movie more. i consider the two rivals because of the similar…

Fun fact! Hemingway wrote to Scott after it was published and said its secret real title was The Sun Also Rises (Like Your Cock If You Have One): A Greater Gatsby. I did not make this up. Their friendship was hilarious.
